Blind Assessment
Dry berry or black currant, flowers, hints of lemon and aromatic wood in the aroma. All carry into a luxuriously sweet cup, with the lemon note dominating. Rich, complexly fruit-toned acidity, silky to lightly syrupy mouthfeel, clean, gently lemon-toned finish.
Notes
This coffee was dried in the fruit, an unusual procedure for any Kona coffee. It is doubly rare because it was produced from trees of the Maragogipe variety, a seldom-grown variety of Arabica that produces enormous beans. Paradoxically, these enormous beans tend to produce a cup rather delicate in sensory profile, as here. Paradise Roasters prides itself on roasting and shipping coffee only after orders are placed. Its metaphoric mission is to bring some paradisiacal warmth from the coffee-growing south to the cool environs of Minnesota. Visit www.paradiseroasters.com or call 763-433-0626 for more information.
Who Should Drink It
Those in pursuit of an extremely rare coffee with great natural sweetness and delicate aromatic complexity.
