Blind Assessment
Musty, mildewed notes read persuasively as sweet, freshly turned earth, strawberry-like fruit and fresh-cut fir. Soft, round acidity; lightly syrupy mouthfeel. The strawberry-like sweetness manages to outlast a mild drying astringency in the finish.
Notes
This is a dry-processed or "natural" coffee, meaning the beans were dried inside the fruit rather than after the fruit has been removed, as is the case with wet-processed or "washed" coffees. Organically grown at origin and labeled organic, although no organic seal appears on the packaging. Café Artigiano is a line in the Cherry Smile brand of coffee established by Wei-Ming Zhuo, a leader in the Taiwan coffee community who is dedicated improving coffee knowledge and culture in Taiwan.
