Blind Assessment
Intense, high-toned aroma: rose-like flowers, nut-toned cocoa, orangy citrus. All carry into the cup, where the citrus turns lemony and zesty. Crisp, balanced acidity; silky mouthfeel. A rather juicy version of the citrus dominates in a long, resonant finish.
Notes
This coffee is certified organically grown and Fair-Trade certified, meaning it was purchased from small-holding farmers at a "fair" or economically sustainable price. Its floral and citrus tones make Ethiopia Sidama (as well as its more geographically focused cousin, Yirgacheffe) one of the world's most distinctive coffees. Sidama is also found spelled Sidamo. Bard Coffee is a coffeehouse and roasting company based in Portland, Maine particularly focused on distinctive single-origin coffees. Bard Coffee is co-owned by Bob Garver, founder of Wicked Joe Coffee Roasting and a frequent judge at barista competitions in the United States and internationally. Visit
