Blind Assessment
Unusual profile: intense night flowers and a banana-like fruit dominate, with complicating hints of brandy and cedar. Round, functional acidity; buttery mouthfeel. Flowers in particular carry into a long, deep, slightly drying finish.
Notes
This is a dry-processed or "natural" coffee, meaning the beans were dried inside the fruit rather than after the fruit has been removed, as is the case with the orthodox wet-processed or "washed" coffees more typical of southern Ethiopia. With two coffee houses located in California's state capitol Sacramento, Temple Coffee recently transitioned from serving coffee roasted by others to roasting its own. Visit
Who Should Drink It
This intriguing variation on the dry-processed Ethiopia cup brings flowers and a fat, low-acid tropical fruit character forward, making it a good choice for those coffee lovers who pursue the exotic and different.
