Blind Assessment
Evaluated as espresso. Balanced, crisp, smooth. Raisin, almond, dark chocolate, cantaloupe-like fruit in aroma and small cup. Lightly syrupy mouthfeel. Chocolate in particular lingers in a pleasantly dry finish. Superb in two parts milk: classic balance with complexly expressed dark chocolate complemented by raisin, apricot, cedar.
Notes
Unlike most Brazil coffees, this one was processed by the washed or wet method, meaning the soft fruit residue was completely removed before the beans were dried. JBC Coffee Roasters (formerly Johnson Brothers Coffee Roasters) is a distinguished small-batch roasting company. Visit www.jbccoffeeroasters.com or call 608-256-5282 for more information.
Who Should Drink It
It’s hard to imagine a much better candidate for a classic cappuccino or espresso macchiato, but makes a smoothly authoritative straight shot as well.
