Blind Assessment
Delicate and meadowy sweet. Honey and molasses, flowering grasses, lemon in aroma and cup. Deepens and develops a chocolaty hint in the cup. Brisk, floral-toned acidity; light but silky mouthfeel. Despite the delicacy of the cup, rich-finishing, with a continuing hint of chocolate.
Notes
The Kochere District adjoins the Yirgacheffe coffee growing region in southern Ethiopia, famous for its distinctively floral- and fruit-toned coffees from traditional varieties of Arabica long grown in the region. Yirgacheffe-style coffees like this one processed by the wet or washed method (fruit skin and pulp is removed before drying) typically express great aromatic complexity and intensity with a particular emphasis on citrus and floral notes. The WestBean is a San Diego-based roastery founded by two friends with a passion for coffee and a determination to bring their customers the highest quality hand-crafted coffee possible. Who Should Drink It
Brisk, refreshing Yirgacheffe. The characteristic Yirgacheffe flowers are not heavy or jasmine-like, but breezy, spring-like and fresh.
