Blind Assessment
Soft, delicate. Orange and milk chocolate suggestions in aroma and cup. Gently round acidity; smooth though slightly lean mouthfeel. Flavor persists in a quietly resonant finish.
Notes
This coffee was processed using the pulped natural variation on the honey method, meaning that the outer skin is removed as it is in the wet process, but the sticky fruit residue is allowed to dry in its entirety on the bean and later removed by machine along with the parchment skin. Joe Van Gogh is a small-batch roasting company with a focus on certified organic coffees. In addition to its Internet retail, it operates three coffeehouses in Durham and Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
