Blind Assessment
Pungent and perfumy. Orange zest, apricot, lush honeysuckle, fir, a hint of cocoa nib in aroma and cup. Roundly tart acidity; light, rather creamy-textured mouthfeel. Sweetly tart in the finish: hints of the orange and cocoa nib.
Notes
This coffee was entirely produced from trees of the heirloom Bourbon variety of Arabica. PT’s Coffee donates one dollar per eight-ounce purchase to the Prodigy Youth Soccer Association of Topeka in honor of PT’s employee and soccer enthusiast Jonathan Kaspar, who lost his life in an automobile accident in 2010. The Flor Del Sol tattoo he wore on his arm inspired the name of this single-origin blend. Jose Antonio Salaverria of Las Ranas Estate, a direct trade partner of PT’s, donated the green coffee for this project.
