Blind Assessment
Round, sweet, gently pungent. Fresh-cut fir, chocolate, a hint of enlivening tart berry in aroma and cup. Round, rather muted acidity; light but syrupy mouthfeel. Sweet-toned, gently drying finish.
Notes
Song Bird coffees are partnership coffees supporting The American Birding Association, with a portion of the proceeds donated to that Association. This coffee is certified organically grown and Fair Trade, meaning it was purchased from small-holding farmers at a "fair" or economically sustainable price, but it is not certified “Bird Friendly” by the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center. One of the country's pioneering socially and environmentally progressive roasters, Thanksgiving aimed to combine coffee quality with social and environmental responsibility many years before the latter preoccupations became fashionable.
