Blind Assessment
Complex and unorthodox. Sweet, orangy citrus and raw sugar in aroma and cup, with backgrounded hints of chocolate and baking spice. Quiet, round acidity; smooth, lively mouthfeel. Fades just a bit in a sweet-toned finish.
Notes
Ten percent of sales of this coffee are donated to CancerCare, a national non-profit that provides free support services for those affected by cancer diagnosis, as a tribute to Amy Erickson, Caribou’s original roastmaster, who lost her battle with breast cancer in 1995 and whose story inspired the Amy’s Blend program. It will be sold and featured at Caribou throughout October, Breast Cancer Awareness month. This coffee also is 100% Rainforest Alliance certified, meaning it was produced following sustainable ecological and socio-economic criteria developed by the Sustainable Agricultural Network, a coalition of independent, environment-focused non-governmental organizations. Caribou Coffee is a retail roasting chain based in the upper Middle West whose rather irreverent motto "Life is short. Stay awake for it" belies a serious approach to coffee. Visit
Who Should Drink It
A rather rough-edged but vigorous, engaging blend supporting a timely cause with personal resonance at Caribou.
