Blind Assessment
Delicate, pungent, subtly original. Dark honey, ripe grapefruit, orchid-like flowers, a hint of cinnamon in aroma and cup. Brisk, juicy acidity; light but silky mouthfeel. The grapefruit notes carries into a crisp, continued juicy finish.
Notes
Established in the 1960’s by Ben Colbran and now in its third generation of family ownership, Baroida is one of the few genuine single-estate coffees still produced in Papua New Guinea. Despite spectacularly rugged terrain that presents daunting transportation and infrastructure challenges, the high mountain valleys of central Papua New Guinea offer some of the world's most favorable terroirs for production of fine coffee. Allegro Coffee, a subsidiary of Whole Foods Market, offers one of the country's largest selections of single-origin coffees. Visit www.allegrocoffee.com or call 800-227-1107 for more information.
Who Should Drink It
Those who enjoy a balanced, quietly complex breakfast cup animated by brisk but juicily sweet suggestions of ripe grapefruit.
