Blind Assessment
A pure, ready-to-drink bottled coffee tested over ice. A sweetly tart structure dominates quiet, layered flavors: lavender-like flowers, milk chocolate, orangy citrus. Richly tart, drying acidity; round, syrupy mouthfeel. Flavor consolidates with the addition of cold milk; the orange, lavender and chocolate notes mute but pleasingly survive.
Notes
Prepared by the cold-brew method, which involves prolonged steeping of ground coffee in cold or room-temperature water and subsequent filtering. Bottled and sold without additives or any ingredient other than coffee and water. Under the enthusiastic leadership of Duane Sorenson, Stumptown has become a leading buyer and roaster of elite, small-lot coffees and has expanded its operations to both coasts.
