Blind Assessment

Gently crisp, cedary, complex. Tobacco-toned cedar (think cigar humidor), vanilla, raw sugar, narcissus-like flowers in aroma and cup. Brisk, dry acidity; lightly syrupy mouthfeel. Vanilla, flowers and cedar carry into a resonant finish.

The word ‘Waykan’ means ‘shining star in the night sky’ in the Mayan Q'qnjobal dialect from Huehuetenango. This coffee comes from small-holder coffee farmers in the Quiché growing region. Who Should Drink It

I am tempted to particularly recommend this coffee to those who enjoy the pungent, complex aroma inside a cigar humidor or the sweeter odor of a cedar cabinet, but that may overly limit the appeal of this coffee, given that the attractive cedar note is just the beginning point of a complex, original profile.
