Blind Assessment
Sweet-toned, spicy. Jasmine, caramel, hazelnut, black peppercorn, fresh-cut fir in aroma and cup. Crisply sweet acidity; light but velvety-smooth mouthfeel. The sweet, gently drying finish consolidates around suggestions of spice-toned caramel.
Notes
Southern Ethiopia coffees like this one are produced from distinctive traditional Ethiopian varieties of Arabica long grown in the region. And like virtually all southern Ethiopia coffees, this coffee is produced by villagers on small garden plots interplanted with food and other subsistence crops. Processed at the Celinga washing station in the Guanga District by the wet or washed method (fruit skin and pulp are removed before drying). This coffee earned the fourth-highest rating in a cupping of coffees from roasting companies five-years-old or younger for Coffee Review‘s February 2017 tasting report. Founded in 2015, the Greater Goods mission is to enrich the lives of coffee-drinkers through passion, creativity, innovation and commitment to the consistency of the specialty coffee the company roasts, and through the local causes supported with its proceeds. Bottom Line
An accessible washed Ethiopia cup, sweetly balanced and gently animated by floral and spice notes.
