Blind Assessment
Richly sweet-savory, spice-toned. Black currant, roasted cacao nib, freesia-like flowers, almond, molasses in aroma and cup. Sweet-savory in structure with crisply bright acidity; velvety mouthfeel. The quietly nuanced finish centers around black currant and freesia tones in the short, molasses and almond in the long.
Notes
Produced from trees of the admired SL-28 and SL-34 varieties of Arabica. Despite grower discontent, contested government coffee policy and urban encroachment on prime coffee lands, the famed Kenya coffee auction system and its participating cooperatives continue to produce some of the world’s most elegant and distinctive coffees. Coffee Please is an artisanal roastery and cafe in Taipei’s Beitou District, famous for the nearby Yangming Mountain hot springs. Visit www.facebook.com/CoffeepleaseTW for more information.
Bottom Line
A classic Kenya coffee with a rich balance of sweet and savory tones brightened by a crisp, juicy acidity.
