Blind Assessment
Sweetly savory, chocolate-toned. Baker’s chocolate, singed cedar, gardenia, plum, molasses in aroma and cup. Crisply sweet-savory structure; delicate, satiny mouthfeel. The richly drying finish centers around baker’s chocolate and pleasantly smoky aromatic wood notes.
Notes
Despite grower discontent and urban encroachment on prime coffee lands, Kenya continues to produce some of the world’s most elegant and distinctive coffees. Evie’s Café, based in Chia-Yi Taiwan, specializes in fine roasted coffees as well as pour-overs and cold-brews. Visit https://m.facebook.com/eviescafe88/ for more information.
Bottom Line
A friendly Kenya cup that leads with crisp chocolate and deep floral notes, with a medium-dark roast profile that encourages a pleasing suggestion of smoky aromatic wood.
