Blind Assessment
Crisply sweet-tart, fruit-toned. Blackberry jam, cocoa powder, almond, narcissus, baking spices in aroma and cup. Sweetly tart structure with bright, fruit-forward acdity; lively, satiny mouthfeel. The finish consolidates to notes of blackberry and cocoa.
Notes
This coffee tied for the fourth-highest rating in a cupping of coffees of the Geisha/Gesha variety of Arabica for Coffee Review’s September 2019 tasting report. Produced at Laderas del Tapias Estate entirely of the Geisha variety of Arabica. This is a dry-processed or “natural” version, meaning the beans were dried inside the fruit rather than after the soft fruit residue has been removed, as is the case with wet-processed or “washed” coffees. CafeTaster is a Taiwan-based specialty roaster and certified SCA training facility. For more information, visit www.facebook.com/cafetaster or email roaster Jerry Huang at [email protected].
Bottom Line
A deep berry-toned cup with a juicy hint of sweet ferment and rich cocoa notes throughout.
