Blind Assessment
Richly sweet-savory, deeply chocolaty. Dark chocolate, fine musk, black cherry, gently scorched cedar, wisteria in aroma and cup. Sweet-savory structure with gentle, rounded acidity; full, creamy mouthfeel. The chocolaty finish is given further depth by suggestions of black cherry and musk, all ensconced in a gently smoky cedar.
Notes
A blend of coffees from Kenya and Guatemala. This coffee tied for the highest rating in a tasting of holiday blends for Coffee Review‘s December 2019 tasting report. Bottom Line
A roast-forward blend that emphasizes chocolate and floral notes while developing the savory inclination of the green coffees as well: rich, musky, sweet. Might be particularly nice — apologies to purists — with a splash of milk.
