Blind Assessment
A ready-to-drink black coffee, tested cold. Red currant, toffee, lemon-thyme, magnolia, bergamot. Richly sweet-savory structure with balanced, high-toned acidity; crisp, satiny mouthfeel. The finish consolidates to notes of red currant and toffee. Milk enhances the toffee and bergamot notes beautifully.
Notes
The coffee tied for the second-highest rating in a tasting of ready-to-drink black coffees for Coffee Review’s July 2021 tasting report. Prepared using a Yama cold-drip tower, a painstaking cold brewing method in which ice-chilled water drips slowly through a bed of ground coffee over the course of several hours per batch. The green coffee used is a single-origin Kenya. Contains no additives or ingredients other than coffee and water. Colläge works with local artists to promote fine arts in its region and values serving its community. This coffee is available for purchase at the Collage store and cafe, 221 South Broad Street, Grove City, Pennsylvania.
Bottom Line
A complex, multi-layered, richly sweet-savory cold coffee that expresses its classic Kenya roots impeccably.
