Blind Assessment
Vibrant, deep, elegant. Grape jelly, roasted coconut, violet, scorched clove, cedar in aroma and cup. Sweet-toned with tangy acidity; full, satiny mouthfeel. Complex smoky-sweet finish with grape and scorched clove notes.
Notes
SL34 and SL28 are varieties of Arabica famous for producing the great classic coffees of Kenya. Hula Daddy is a boutique coffee producer with farms at the 1,400- and 2,500-foot levels of the Mount Hualalai volcano near the northern end of the Kona growing district, above the town of Kailua-Kona. This SL34 coffee was produced at the higher-elevation Hula Daddy farm and processed with an anaerobic ferment step using commercial yeast. Visit www.huladaddy.com or call 808-327-9744 for more information.
Bottom Line
A mesmerizing darker-roasted Kona SL34 with brightly sweet fruit and delicate florals against a backdrop of richly aromatic scorched clove.
