Blind Assessment
Deeply sweet, cocoa-toned. Cocoa nib, lilac, black cherry, fresh-cut oak, brown sugar in aroma and cup. Balanced structure with brisk acidity; full, syrupy mouthfeel. Finish consolidates to cocoa nib and brown sugar with lilac undertones.
Notes
Produced by smallholding farmers from the Tangara community, entirely of the Red Bourbon variety of Arabica, and processed by the traditional washed method (fruit skin and pulp removed before drying). JBC Coffee Roasters’ vision is simple: “let the coffee lead the way” through sourcing and roasting the best and most unique coffees available and rewarding the farmers who grow those coffees with substantial premiums. Bottom Line
An understated Burundi with cocoa-toned stone fruit and delicate floral notes throughout.
