Blind Assessment
Richly sweet-tart, complex, fruit-forward. Raspberry, cocoa nib, honeysuckle, myrrh, nougat in aroma and cup. Briskly sweet, gently tart acidity; richly syrupy mouthfeel. Resonant finish consolidates to raspberry and cocoa nib.
Notes
Produced by smallholding farmers, entirely of local landrace varieties of Arabica, and processed by the red honey method, in which much of the fruit flesh is left on the beans during the drying process. Dou Zhai Coffee & Roastery is a Taiwan-based specialty coffee roaster and cafe. Visit www.douzhaicafe.com for more information.
Bottom Line
Berry and cocoa nib notes carry this multi-layered Ethiopia red honey with floral undertones and very sweet nougaty notes.
