Blind Assessment
Deep-toned, vibrantly sweet-savory. Gooseberry, rhododendron, dark chocolate, amber, cedar in aroma and cup. Complex, juicy acidity; plush, satiny mouthfeel. Resonant, flavor-saturated, very long finish.
Notes
Produced by smallholding members of the Gikanda Farmers' Cooperative Society, from trees of the SL28, SL34 and Batian varieties of Arabica, and processed by the washed method (fruit skin and pulp removed before drying) at the Kangocho Factory. JBC Coffee Roasters’ vision is simple: “Let the coffee lead the way” through sourcing and roasting the best coffees available and rewarding the farmers who grow those coffees with substantial premiums. Bottom Line
A recognizably Kenyan cup with its brightness and savory undercurrents alongside a throughline of juicy sweetness — nuanced, deep, engaging.
