Blind Assessment
Richly spice-toned, gently floral. Bergamot, hop flowers, guava, oak forest, pink peppercorn in aroma and cup. High-toned, sweetly citric acidity; vibrant, very silky mouthfeel. Flavor-saturated, confidently aromatic, inviting and long finish.
Notes
Produced by smallholding farmers, from trees of local landrace varieties of Arabica, and processed by the washed method (fruit skin and pulp removed before drying). Utopian Coffee is a specialty roaster based in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Visit www.utopiancoffee.com for more information.
Bottom Line
This tea-like coffee is headily aromatic, delicately floral and spice-toned, and sweetly citrusy in a classically washed-Ethiopia way. Drink it with a slice of lemon poppyseed cake.
