Blind Assessment

Sweet, delicately and crisply complex. Distinct rose-like floral notes, roasted cacao nib, caramel, roasted almond in aroma and cup. Gentle acidity; lightly silky mouthfeel. Flavor consolidates but carries persuasively into a quietly dry finish.

Notes

Composed entirely of beans from the yellow-fruited strain of the heirloom Bourbon variety of Arabica and processed by the pulped natural method, in which the skin is removed from the coffee fruit immediately after picking, but the seeds or beans are dried with the sweet pulp, or fruit flesh, still adhering to them. This farm was purchased by the prize-winning Sertãozinho group in 2006. Willoughby's Coffee & Tea is a pioneer specialty coffee roaster established in the early 1980s that has gracefully and successfully moved with the times and now offers a menu of extremely refined small-lot, single-origin coffees. Who Should Drink It

This refined, delicate version of the classic Brazil dried-in-the-fruit profile may particularly please those who find brighter, higher-grown coffees too assertive but who still crave some aromatic intrigue. The rose-like notes are rich and impressive.
