Blind Assessment
Cherry notes dominate in the very sweet-toned, pungently acidy aroma. Relatively light-bodied in the cup, but sweetly and buoyantly acidy, with striking and complex aromatic notes: cherry, tea rose, Meyer Lemon, orange, honey. Honey in particular persists in the rich, sweet, though slightly astringent finish.
Notes
Esmeralda Especial is produced from trees of the Geisha variety of Arabica, a variety with Ethiopian parentage, by Finca Esmeralda owners Price and Daniel Peterson. It consistently attracts some of the world?s highest prices paid for green coffee owing to its unusual fusion of Ethiopian and Central American cup character. Stumptown Coffee is a small-batch premium roasting company that wholesales its coffees as well as serves them in French press format in its three Portland cafes. Who Should Drink It
Those willing to pay for a profile that continues almost unique in the world of coffee, a pungently floral and lemon Ethiopian cup wrapped in sensory silk.
