Blind Assessment
Sweetly bright and lushly nectar-like. Nectarine, roasted cacao nib, lemon zest, freesia-like flowers in aroma and cup. Roundly sweet, juicy acidity; plush, buoyant mouthfeel. Flavor consolidates but lasts in a cleanly resonant, lightly drying finish.
Notes
Certified organically grown. Worka is one of twenty-three primary cooperatives located in the Gedeo Zone of Southern Ethiopia that together make up the Yirgacheffe Farmers Union. Yirgacheffe coffees like this one processed by the wet or washed method (fruit skin and pulp is removed before drying) typically express great aromatic complexity and intensity with a particular emphasis on citrus and floral notes. Although the words “Fair Trade” appear on the label of the attractive 12-ounce valve-topped can, judging by the absence of trademarked seal this coffee may not be certified Fair Trade by Fair Trade USA. Wonderstate Coffee, formerly Kickapoo Coffee, is an award-winning roaster based in rural Wisconsin known for their commitment to guaranteeing higher pay for farmers and being the country’s first 100% solar powered roastery. Who Should Drink It
Those who enjoy a plush, round, nectar-like cup with an edge of crisp complication.
