Blind Assessment
Richly fermenty, sweetly whiskey-toned. Bourbon barrel, dark chocolate, orange zest, amber, fir in aroma and cup. Sweet structure with brisk acidity; full, creamy mouthfeel. The gently drying finish is centered around Bourbon barrel notes.
Notes
Southern Ethiopia coffees like this one are largely produced from distinctive indigenous Ethiopia landrace varieties of Arabica long grown in the region. Processed by the natural method (dried in the whole fruit). The coffee was then aged in Bourbon-seasoned oak barrels before roasting. With more than 10 years of roasting experience, Regent strives to deliver coffee with care and purpose. Visit regentcoffee.com for more information.
Bottom Line
An overtly whiskey-toned Ethiopia natural cup with some pleasing chocolate notes underneath — very much a coffee for those who enjoy intentionally fermenty barrel-aging profiles.
