Blind Assessment
Crisply sweet, cocoa-toned. Cocoa powder, scorched fir, raisin, hazelnut, a sweet-sour yogurt-like hint in aroma and cup. Bittersweet structure with pert acidity; smooth mouthfeel. Cocoa-toned finish with undertones of scorched fir and raisin.
Notes
This coffee was tested as part of a survey of single-origin coffees available in U.S. supermarkets for Coffee Review’s February 2020 report. Purchased at a Woodman’s Market in Madison, Wisconsin. Processed by the washed method (fruit skin and pulp are removed before drying). Eight O'Clock Coffee is the brand line of coffee products currently manufactured by the Eight O'Clock Coffee Company, a subsidiary of Tata Global Beverages, headquartered in Montvale, New Jersey. Bottom Line
A roast-prominent, cocoa-toned Colombia cup with an intriguing sweet-tart note.
