Blind Assessment
Elegantly fruit-forward, delicately juicy. Strawberry guava, malted milk balls, freesia-like flowers, pink peppercorn, marjoram in aroma and cup. Balanced, sweet-tart structure with gently bright acidity; plump, satiny mouthfeel. Crisp, sweet finish centered on suggestions of freesia and pink peppercorn.
Notes
Produced by José Giraldo and Jorge Correa of Finca San Juan entirely of the Geisha variety of Arabica, and processed by the natural carbonic maceration method, which involves fermenting whole coffee fruit inside a sealed container that has been flushed with CO2, then drying the coffee, still in the whole fruit. Founded in 1990, Roadmap CoffeeWorks, formerly Lexington Coffee Roasters, is an award-winning artisan roasting company based in Lexington, Virginia. Bottom Line
A deep, subtly invigorating carbonic-macerated Colombia Geisha cup with notes of tropical fruit and spicy flowers, complicated by a sweet herbaceousness.
