Blind Assessment
Cleanly fruit-toned and floral. Strawberry, alyssum, allspice, almond butter, sweet chocolate in aroma and cup. Bright, juicy, sweet-tart acidity; delicate, silky mouthfeel. The richly drying finish centers around strawberry in the short and rounds to spice-toned chocolate in the long.
Notes
Produced by farmer Gustavo de Jesus Rivera entirely of trees of the Caturra variety of Arabica. Processed by the wet or washed method (fruit skin and pulp are removed before drying). This coffee tied for the second-highest rating in a cupping of coffees from roasting companies five-years-old or younger for Coffee Review‘s February 2017 tasting report. Founded in August 2016, Charlotte Coffee Company donates 10 percent of proceeds from all retail sales to local non-profits dedicated to ending homelessness and hunger, as well as supporting public education and protection of the environment. Bottom Line
A confident, juicy-sweet Colombia coffee, satisfyingly complete in structure and lively in aromatics.
