Blind Assessment
Tropical fruit-toned, richly aromatic. Passionfruit, lychee, dark chocolate, tangerine zest, amber in aroma and cup. Sweetly tart structure with piquant acidity; full, syrupy-smooth mouthfeel. Fruit-driven finish with undertones of crisp chocolate.
Notes
Produced by Felipe Arcila of Jardines del Eden entirely of the admired Pink Bourbon variety of Arabica, and processed by an experimental method in which the pulped fruit with some mucilage left on the seed (similar to honey-processed coffees) is fermented with wine yeasts and passionfruit pulp. The Angry Roaster is a Toronto-based specialty coffee roaster whose mission is to bridge the gap between the everyday coffee drinker and the specialty coffee lover. Bottom Line
A uniquely composed cup: This honey-processed Colombia was fermented with passionfruit, reinforcing an intoxicatingly tropical profile.
