Blind Assessment
Mild, sweetly pungent. Apricot, brown sugar, hints of dark chocolate and lily in aroma and cup. Round, backgrounded acidity; plump mouthfeel. Flavor makes a rather faint last stand in a quiet finish.
Notes
Purchased pre-ground in a 12-ounce foil bag with one-way degassing valve at a Safeway supermarket in northern California. This sample was roasted, roast-dated, and packaged at Peet’s Alameda, California facility. Peet’s, now a privately owned corporation under the John A. Benckiser Investment group, has arguably managed to maintain its essential identity during a slow, careful expansion from its original, intensely loyalist base in the San Francisco Bay area. Visit www.peets.com or call 800-999-2132 for more information.
Who Should Drink It
This coffee is considerably lighter roasted than a typical Peet’s coffee. Its gentle pungency and apricot fruit is pleasing, though rather muted.
