Blind Assessment
Delicate, tropical, cocoa-toned. Cocoa nib, passion fruit, bergamot, amber, wild honey in aroma and cup. Juicy, malic acidity; smooth, very satiny mouthfeel. The finish fulfills the promise of the cup with rich aromatics that linger.
Notes
Produced by Wilder Lasso and Nikolai Furst of Finca El Rubi, entirely of Ethiopia landrace varieties of Arabica they germinated in Colombia. Processed by the washed method (fruit skin and pulp removed before drying). Jaunt Coffee Roasters is a San Diego-based roaster and café with an extensive coffee and food menu. Visit www.jauntcoffee.com for more information.
Bottom Line
A Colombia-Ethiopia mashup of the highest order: Sidama varieties germinated in Colombia to produce 3,200 seedlings that became the trees that produced this elegant, enticing cup.
