Blind Assessment
Pungent, sweetly tart. Tangerine, agave syrup, roasted cacao nib, plum in aroma and cup. Impressively lush, sweetly bright acidity; plush mouthfeel. The tart tangerine carries into a deeply resonant, sweet-toned finish.
Notes
The Democratic Republic of the Congo has very recently established itself as a source of specialty coffee with the founding of the Muungano Cooperative in an area overlooking Lake Kivu, on the opposite side of the lake from Rwanda. The rapidly growing cooperative now has 2,300 members, and apparently is succeeding its goal to help heal the wounds left by the latest in eastern Congo’s seemingly endless string of horrific rebellions and civil wars. Wonderstate Coffee, formerly Kickapoo Coffee, is an award-winning roaster based in rural Wisconsin known for their commitment to guaranteeing higher pay for farmers and being the country’s first 100% solar powered roastery. Who Should Drink It
