Blind Assessment
Delicate, complex, refreshing. Flavor-saturated aroma, balanced structure. Flowers, butterscotch, roasted cacao nib and an intriguing note suggesting rye whisky in aroma and cup. Smooth acidity; silky mouthfeel. Rich, flavor-nuanced finish.
Notes
Produced on Llamatepec Farm from trees of the heirloom Bourbon variety of Arabica. A “honey” coffee, meaning the skin was removed from the coffee fruit immediately after picking but the beans or seeds were dried with at least some of the fruit pulp or “honey” still adhering to them. This practice contrasts to the more conventional wet or washed method, wherein both skin and pulp are removed from the beans before drying. This is one of Mt. Whitney Coffee Roasters’ “ultra specialty” coffees. Mt. Whitney Coffee Roasters sources, imports and roasts top coffees from around the globe; it is a 501-C3 non-profit that donates all profit after expenses to fund schools and food and well-drilling programs in Africa.
