Blind Assessment
Complex and unusual. Flowers, lemon, cocoaish nut, with a very distinctive pungent, stewed fruit note, sweet yet savory. Rich acidity, syrupy mouthfeel. Long, flavor-saturated finish.
Notes
This coffee is a former first-place winner in the El Salvador Cup of Excellence competition. La Montana farm, in the northeast corner of El Salvador near the border with Honduras, is planted with Bourbon, Pacas and Pacamara varieties of Arabica. This lot is comprised entirely of the Pacamara variety, a cross between the giant-beaned Maragogipe variety and Pacas, a selection of the heirloom Bourbon. Pacamara has proven to produce exceptional coffee on many El Salvador farms. Coffea Roasterie is a South Dakota based wholesale and retail roaster, with a small but refined selection of mostly single-origin coffees. Visit
Who Should Drink It
A syrupy, savory-sweet fruit and rich complexity makes this a fine candidate for an afternoon or after dinner coffee, while the large, bold Pacamara beans are nice for coffee show and tell.
