Blind Assessment
Pungent fir, nut-toned chocolate in the aroma. Rich acidity, lightly syrupy mouthfeel. A spicy lemon dominates in the cup, supported by continued nut and chocolate notes. Long, deep-toned finish, fading to a very slight astringency.
Notes
This cooperative-produced coffee from the Aleta Wondo Valley was processed by the wet or washed method (fruit skin and pulp is removed before drying) accentuating citrus and cocoa notes that probably reflect the influence of one or more of the many native Ethiopian varieties of coffee tree. Founded in 1995, Equator Estate Coffees & Teas is a women-owned wholesale coffee roasting company with web based retail. Equator focuses on sustainability in coffee sourcing and business practices.
