Blind Assessment
Gently fruity, richly chocolaty. Dark chocolate, mulberry, cashew butter, orange zest, oak in aroma and cup. Gentle, round acidity; plush, creamy-smooth mouthfeel. Chocolaty finish with citrus and oak undertones.
Notes
Produced by smallholding members of the Akisana Cooperative founded by Bodja Gelalecha and his family, from trees of local landrace varieties of Arabica, and processed by the natural method (dried in the whole fruit). Founded in 2011 by Keith Hamrick and Jen Lovrak, Northbound Coffee Roasters is a family-owned and -operated roastery in Mount Shasta, California. Visit northboundcoffee.com for more information.
Bottom Line
A friendly natural-processed Ethiopia with leading notes of dark chocolate, red fruit, nut butter and citrus zest.
