Blind Assessment
Intricate, distinctive, complete. Dark chocolate, a rich array of fruit suggestions – pear, pineapple, plum – and rose, sandalwood and vanilla notes in aroma and cup. Plumply tart and rich acidity; lightly syrupy, lively mouthfeel. Flavor consolidates but saturates a long, rich finish.
Notes
Yirgacheffe is a coffee region in southern Ethiopia that produces distinctive coffees from traditional varieties of Arabica long grown in the region. This is a “natural” or dry-processed version, meaning the beans were dried inside the fruit, encouraging a flavor profile that is less predictable and deeper than the more familiar wet-processed floral- and citrus-toned Yirgacheffe profile. Like virtually all Ethiopia coffees, this coffee is produced by villagers on small, garden plots interplanted with food and other subsistence crops. Cambria Coffee is a small, quality-focused artisan roasting company located in the town of Cambria on California’s Central Coast. Visit
Who Should Drink It
A fine example of the new style of Ethiopia dried-in-the-fruit coffee, with the lush fruit and chocolate notes characteristic of the processing method, yet still pure, classic, complete.
