Blind Assessment
Sweetly pungent, complexly floral-toned. Lavender, rose and other floral suggestions, crisp roasted cacao nib, strawberry, fresh-cut fir in aroma and cup. Rich, rounded acidity; very silky mouthfeel. The finish is dry but balanced and deeply flavor-saturated.
Notes
This is a dry-processed or "natural" coffee, meaning the beans were dried inside the fruit (in the sun on raised tables) rather than after the fruit has been removed, as is the case with wet-processed or "washed" coffees. Calgary-based Fratello is a second-generation boutique coffee roaster owned by three brothers who focus on responsible trade relationships with coffee growers. Visit
Who Should Drink It
Those who prefer a crisp, elegantly floral version of the Ethiopia dried-in-the-fruit profile to fruitier or more wine-toned versions of the type.
