Blind Assessment
Sweetly tart, berry-toned. Mulberry, cocoa nib, Meyer lemon zest, agave syrup, fresh-cut oak in aroma and cup. Brightly sweet acidity; crisp, satiny mouthfeel. Mulberry and cocoa nib are central in the balanced finish.
Notes
Produced by smallholding farmers near the Koke Washing Station, operated by Semira Negash, from local heirloom varieties of Arabica, and processed by the honey method (some fruit flesh is left on the beans during the drying process). Utopian Coffee is a specialty roaster based in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Visit www.utopiancoffee.com for more information.
Bottom Line
A nuanced, berry-driven honey-processed Ethiopia with a cocoa nib throughline.
