Blind Assessment
Sweetly tart, fruit-toned. Dried strawberry, sandalwood, grappa, roasted cacao nib, spearmint in aroma and cup. Crisp, round and sweet-tart in structure with deep fruit tones at the center; lively, silky mouthfeel. The richly drying short finish is flavor-saturated, carrying over all the notes from the cup, with suggestions of grappa and sandalwood lingering into the long.
Notes
Certified organic. Limmu (also Limu) is a growing district in southern Ethiopia that produces distinctive coffees from traditional varieties of Arabica long grown in the area. This is a dry-processed or “natural” coffee, meaning the beans were dried inside the fruit rather than after the fruit has been removed, as is the case with wet-processed or “washed” coffees. Jebena Coffees is a Dubai-based custom-built roasting facility with a temperature- and humidity-controlled storage area and a professional cupping lab. Jebena offers coffees for both retail and wholesale purchase, as well as coffee training at every level. Visit www.jebenacoffees.com for more information.
Bottom Line
A crisp, high-toned dried-in-the-fruit or “natural”-processed Ethiopia driven by berry notes with a hint of sweet fruit ferment and grounded by intimations of cocoa and sweet herbs.
