Blind Assessment
Complex, pungent, savory-sweet. Sweetly tart, guava-like fruit, night-blooming flowers, buttery dark chocolate, maple syrup in aroma and cup. Round, soft acidity; full, syrupy mouthfeel. The guava note in particular enlivens a deep, long finish.
Notes
Grown in the Guji area of the Sidamo (also Sidama) growing region on farms around Machicha village, this Ethiopian coffee is a dry- or "natural-" processed coffee, meaning the beans were dried inside the fruit rather than after the fruit was removed, as is the case with wet-processed or "washed" coffees. Bean Fruit is a quality-oriented small-batch roaster based in Jackson, Mississippi, whose motto is a Biblical quotation from Galatians 5:22-23: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” Visit www.beanfruit.com or call 601-624-2605 for more information.
Who Should Drink It
Wide range of aromatic intrigue in this very complex variation on the Ethiopia dried-in-the-fruit cup.
