Blind Assessment
Richly pungent, juicy. Honeysuckle, mango, almond butter, roasted cacao nib, a hint of myrrh in aroma and cup. Round, resonant acidity; plush, lightly syrupy mouthfeel. Flowers and cacao in particular carry into a sweet, resonant finish.
Notes
"Akrabi" means coffee traders in the Ethiopian Ahmaric language. This is an EXC coffee, meaning that it was offered and sold through the new Ethiopian Coffee Exchange. Yirgacheffe coffees like this one processed by the wet or washed method (fruit skin and pulp are removed before drying) typically express great aromatic complexity and intensity with a particular emphasis on floral notes. Illuminista Coffee Roasters is a family-owned and operated small-batch coffee roaster specializing in unique, high-quality, small-lot coffees. Illuminista’s goal is to source and roast coffees that will open the eyes of even the most seasoned coffee aficionados. For more information, visit www.illuministacoffee.com.
