Blind Assessment
Deeply aromatic, complex. Bergamot, mulberry, tea rose, cinnamon, amber in aroma and cup. Delicately sweet-tart acidity; crisp, silky-smooth mouthfeel. Long, resonant, flavor-saturated finish.
Notes
Produced by smallholding farmers, entirely of local heirloom varieties of Arabica, and processed by the anaerobic washed method, in which the fermentation step occurs in a hermetically sealed vessel before the beans are washed and dried. Kafe Coffee Roastery is a specialty roaster based in Zhubei, Taiwan. Visit shopee.tw/zengkaochen for more information.
Bottom Line
Richly floral, deeply sweet, spice-toned — this washed anaerobic Ethiopia hits a range of spot-on notes and has an exceptionally nuanced acidity.
