Blind Assessment
Crisply exotic. Complex flowers running from honeysuckle to lavender, roasted cacao nib, orange, moist pipe tobacco in aroma and cup. Richly tart, floral-toned acidity; light but very silky mouthfeel. Deep, flavor-saturated finish.
Notes
This coffee is certified organically grown and Fair Trade certified, meaning it was purchased from small-holding farmers at a "fair" or economically sustainable price. It is an unusually refined example of a dry-processed or "natural" coffee, meaning the beans were dried inside the fruit rather than after the fruit has been removed, as is the case with wet-processed or "washed" coffees. Worka is one of twenty-two primary cooperatives located in the Gedeo Zone of Southern Ethiopia organized as the Yirgacheffe Farmers Union; Bedhatu Jibicho is one of the farmers within the cooperative. Kakalove Café is a nano-roaster located the small city of Chia-Yi in Taiwan that strives to procure and roast the finest quality coffee.
