Blind Assessment
Deep, roundly pungent, very sweet. Lilac and narcissus, sandalwood, banana, molasses, minty chocolate in aroma and cup. Rich, roundly tart acidity; lightly syrupy mouthfeel. Sandalwood dominates in a resonant, gently bittersweet short finish; floral notes sweeten and carry far into the long.
Notes
Yirgacheffe is a coffee region in southern Ethiopia that produces distinctive coffees from traditional varieties of Arabica long grown in the region. This is a “natural” or dry-processed version, meaning the beans were dried inside the fruit, encouraging a flavor profile that is less predictable and deeper than the more familiar wet-processed floral- and citrus-toned Yirgacheffe profile. Like virtually all Ethiopia coffees, this coffee is produced by villagers on small, garden plots interplanted with food and other subsistence crops. Flight Coffee Co. (formerly CQ Coffee Roasters) is a coffee-loving, quality-focused roasting company based in Bedford, New Hampshire.Visit www.flightcoffeeco.com or call 603-836-6228 for more information.
