Blind Assessment
Deeply rich, subtly sweet. Baker’s chocolate, lily-like flowers, almond, stone fruit, a hint of orange zest in aroma and cup. Richly tart acidity; smooth, satiny mouthfeel. Flavor consolidates but persists in a drying finish.
Notes
This is a certified organically grown and Fair Trade Certified green coffee, meaning it was purchased from small-holding farmers at a “fair” or economically sustainable price. However, this roasted, retail version does not carry the Fair Trade USA seal on the bag or website because, although the producer and importer are Fair Trade Certified, the roaster is not. Huehuetenango is a particularly admired Guatemala growing region. Paradise Roasters specializes in micro-lot coffees and espressos from Hawaii and other premier coffee growing regions. The company prides itself on quality and freshness, craft-roasting coffees in small batches only after orders are placed. Visit www.paradiseroasters.com or call 763-433-0626 for more information.
Who Should Drink It
Chocolate lovers. A tart, but sweetly nuanced, chocolate note dominates in this attractive Guatemala.
