Blind Assessment
Complexly fruity, cocoa-toned. Boysenberry, pomelo, cocoa nib, cedar, frankincense in aroma and cup. Sweet-tart acidity; full, creamy mouthfeel. Deeply fruity finish with cocoa nib undertones.
Notes
Produced by Petronilo Martinez and his son Petronilo Jesus, entirely of the Maragoype variety of Arabica, and processed by the natural method (dried in the whole fruit). Big Shoulders Coffee is a Chicago artisan roaster that emphasizes a fresh-roasted, no-nonsense approach to fine coffee. Visit www.bigshoulderscoffee.com or call 312-846-1439 for more information.
Bottom Line
It’s unusual to find a natural-processed Maragoype, and this Guatemala is a fruit bomb restrained only by cocoa nib; especially creamy, rich mouthfeel.
